MARK W. MURRAY.


   MARK W. MURRAY, elected to the Legislature from the sixteenth representative district, comprising Cuming, Dakota, and Thurston counties, is a Democrat. He was born in Wisconsin, January 6, 1867, and came to Nebraska in the year 1872, finishing his education at the Fremont Normal. He moved to Pender, Thurston county, in 1889, where he now publishes the Pender Times. Mr. Murray was twice elected to the Legislature from his district, has been a member of the Democratic state committee, village clerk, and postmaster at Pender under Cleveland's last term.

J. A. OLLIS, JR.


   J. A. OLLIS, JR., representative from Valley county, the fifty-fifth district, belongs to the Peoples' Independent party; was born in Illinois in 1859. Coming from that state to Nebraska in 1882, he settled on a farm in Valley county, where he still resides. He was married to Sarah J. Kerr, who died in 1896, leaving a family .of eight children, Mr. Ollis is engaged in stock-raising; has been county commissioner and supervisor for most part of fifteen years. He is a member of the Presbyterian church, a man of energy and determination, who believes that the office holder should look more to the interest of the people and less to the success of any particular party.

CHARLES O. OLSON.


   CHARLES O. OLSON, representative from Phelps county, which comprises the sixty-third district, was born in Sweden, February 5, 1868, and was brought to America that same year by his parents, who located in Galesburg, Ill. He came to Holdrege, Neb., in the year 1885, and has since resided there, engaged in the dry goods business with the firm of Olson and Turner since 1893. He served two terms as city treasurer of Holdrege, elected on the temperance ticket; was elected representative on the Republican ticket to the present legislative session; has always been a strong advocate of temperance.

L. C. PEISIGER.


   L. C. PEISIGER is a Democrat and was elected by the Fusion forces of Webster county, the forty-fourth representative district. He was born in Germany, July 10, 1861, and came to Nebraska from Illinois in the year 1873. He was married to Miss Anna Kick and they have two daughters. Mr. Peisiger lives at Blue Hill, Webster county, where he is engaged in the furniture business.

JAMES D. REAM.


   JAMES D. REAM, Populist member of the lower branch of the Legislature from Custer county, the fifty-sixth district, was born in Pennsylvania, October 18, 1852, and came to Nebraska from Iowa in April, 1878, living two years in Polk county, then. locating a homestead in Custer county, where he still resides. He was married February 11, 1883, to Anna E. Seerers, and has a family of three boys. Mr. Ream resides at Broken Bow, is a farmer and stock-raiser by occupation; has been member of the State Board of Agriculture; is an ardent worker at fairs and farmers' institutes and agricultural education in general. His thorough methods of cultivation of fruit and ornamental trees on the farm demonstrates his faith in the possibilities of home building in western Nebraska.

HERMAN W. REDMAN.


   HERMAN W. REDMAN, member of the house of representatives from the forty-fifth district, Adams county, is a Democrat, and was born in Germany, October 17, 1855. He came to Nebraska from Wisconsin in the year 1882, was married November 5, 1884, to Anna Bade, and has a family of three children. Mr. Redman is engaged in the implement business at Kenesaw, and is now having his first experience in public office.
