"Pete" Arthur Gardner

1875 -1953

A son of Wolf and Elizabeth (nee Tombs) Gardner[i], "Pete" Arthur Gardner was the husband of Etta (nee Winn) Gardner.  Etta (nee Winn) Gardner was a daughter of Simeon and Martha Winn, pioneers of York Township.  Etta was also a sister to Jennie Winn whose first husband was Edward Graves and whose second husband was Bert Hayden.  Per church records, Arthur Garner married Etta Winn on June 8, 1898 at the Winns (Simeon and Martha).  The 1905 Census for Clark County shows a Pete Gardner (29) living in York Township with his wife Etta (27).  Carrie (nee Gardner) Bassett and Bertha (nee Gardner) Lawrence were siblings of Arthur Gardner and are also buried at York Cemetery.
