Zelina Rowe

September 2, 1856 - January 8, 1938

wpe9.gif (10555 bytes)Zelina (nee Lawrence) was a pioneer of York Township who came to Clark County from Sheboygan County circa 1876 with her husband, William M. Rowe.  Zelina Rowe was born in Plymouth Township, Sheboygan County; a daughter of Jesse and Almeda (nee Benedict) Lawrence, who were also pioneers of York Township.  Zelina Rowe was a sister to Horace A. Lawrence & Sarah Lindsley and a first cousin to Adonijah Benedict; all of whom were early settlers of York Township.  William and Zelina’s children include Walter, Ernest, Jesse, and Forest Rowe, who are also interred at York Center Cemetery.  Since Walter Rowe was the father of Verla Dahl/Hales and Milford Rowe, Zelina Rowe was therefore a great-grandmother to Alvin Dahl and Donald Rowe.
