Edwin Young

October 15, 1868 - May 8, 1899

wpe8.gif (7836 bytes)Born in Fond du Lac County, Edwin Young was a son of Nelson H. Young and Lucretia (nee Mills) Young; both whom were pioneers of York Township.  The 1870 Federal Census for Forest Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin lists a Otis Young living with his parents, Nelson and Lucretia, and two brothers: Corral and OtisIn 1877, he came to York Township with his parents.  Similarly, the 1880 Federal Census shows an Edwin Young living in York Township with his parents, N.H. and Lucretia Young and four brothers, Corral, Otis, Irvin and Waldo.  The Young farmstead was located in Section 4.  He married the former Cynthia Adams, a daughter of Samuel A. Adams, another pioneer of York Township.  Edwin and Cynthia Young’s only child was Alice Young who married Rollie Benedict.  Edwin Young died at the age of 31 of Bright’s Disease.  Edwin’s brother, Otis Young is also buried in York Center Cemetery.
