Otis Young

June 14, 1865 - April 7, 1904

Born in Forest Township, Fond du Lac County; Otis Young was a son of Nelson H. Young and Lucretia (nee Mills) Young; both whom were pioneers of York Township.  The 1870 Federal Census for Forest Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin lists a Otis Young living with his parents, Nelson and Lucretia, and two brothers: Coral and EdwinIn 1877, he came to York Township with his parents.  Similarly, the 1880 Federal Census shows a Otis Young living in York Township with his parents, N.H. and Lucretia Young and four brothers, Corral, Edwin, Irvin and Waldo.  The Young farmstead was located in Section 4.  He married the former Mae Piper, a daughter of Henry and Emily (nee Close) Piper of Spokeville (Loyal Township).  Their children included Harry, Georgie, Delbert and James Young.  Otis Young died at the age of thirty-seven from appendicitis.  As indicated before, he was a brother to Edwin Young, the husband of the former Cynthia Adams, a daughter of Samuel A. Adams, another pioneer of York Township.  Otis Young’s brother, Edwin Young and Edwin's wife, Cynthia (nee Adams) Young are also buried in York Center Cemetery.
