A native of Todd County, born June 18, 1914, daughter of the late Riley and Maude KENNER . Her husband Lloyd ALLISON, died in 1990.

Funeral services for Odell HEAD CARTER, age 81, Guthrie, were Feb. 10, 1997 at Guthrie and burial followed in Highland Cemetery,Guthrie, Todd County.Born on March 9, 1915 in Montgomery County, Tenn., daughter of George F. HEAD and Mattie E. ELLIOTT HEAD. Her husband, Lewis B. CARTER, preceded her in death.

CARTWRIGHT, James "Billy Jack"
Funeral services for James W. "Billy Jack" CARTWRIGHT, age 77, Elkton, were Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997. Burial followed in the Glenwood Cemetery.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1920, the son of the late George L. and Ora REEVES CARTWRIGHT. He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and Postmaster of Clifty in 1982.

CROSS, James T.
Funeral services for James T. CROSS, age 59, Allensville, were held Jan. 27, 1997 and burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetary.
He was born on May 30, 1937 in Allensville, son of James T. and Sarah BROWN CROSS Sr.

CUMBEE, Robert L.
Funeral services for Robert Lee "Bob" CUMBEE, age 66, Elkton, were Jan. 5, 1997and burial followed in Stokes Chapel Cemetery, Todd County.
A native of Todd County, he was born May 21, 1930, son of the late Radford CUMBEE and Mary Virginia SHEMWELL CUMBEE. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dean KNIGHT CUMBEE on June 12, 1996.

DORRIS, Mrs. Homer
Funeral services were held in Russellville, Logan County, Ky on Monday, Feb. 3, 1997 for Mrs.Homer DORRIS.

FORD, Myrtle
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Ione FORD, age 76, Elkton, were Jan. 11, 1997. Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. FORD was born Nov. 20, 1920 in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of the late Eulieus and Laura RAGER CAIN.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnett Ray FORD in 1971.

GARRETT, James Virgil
Funeral services for James Virgil GARRETT, age 80, of Lewisburg, Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997 and burial followed in Cliff Hill Cemetery.
He died Monday, Jan. 27 at 3:30 p.m. at Hearthstone Place, Elkton.
A native of Kentucky, he was born May 13, 1916, son of the late Maude GARRETT and Charles GARRETT.

HIGHTOWER, Warren Clair

Friday, Jan. 17, 1997 at the Earlington First Christian Church, burial was in the Belmont Cemetery,
Allensville.
HIGHTOWER, native of Todd County, he was born July 14, 1907, the son of the late Coy Clair HIGHTOWER and Annie Belle ADAMS. Preceded in death by his wife, Alice on October 14, 1996; a daughter, Betty Jo HIGHTOWER, and a great-granddaughter, Kelly Renee OPP.

Funeral held Tuesday, December 2, 1997, at First Peter Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial at Green Meadows Memorial Cemetery.

HOLMES, Nelle L. (WEATHERS)
Nelle L. (WEATHERS) HOLMES, 93, of Nashua, New Hampshire, formerly of Elkton, died on Dec. 30, 1996. Interment in the HOLMES family lot, Orchard Grove Cemetery, Kittery, Maine.
She was born in Elkton June 22, 1903, the daughter of the late George Seymour and Elizabeth (MCKINNEY) WEATHERS.
In 1937, she received her Master's degree in History from the Political Science Department of the Columbia University Graduate School.
For thirty years Mrs. HOLMES was active in civic and political affairs. In 1956 she was elected the first woman senator from Dist. 12 to the N.H.State Senate

Native of Todd County born July 5, 1931, son of the late Edgar B. and Effie PAGE HURT.
Preceded in death by a son, Jerry Clarence HURT on June 7, 1995 and a brother, Paul T. HURT, May 24, 1996.

Born April 22, 1924, son of Clyde R. and Annie L. CRISWELL KENNER.

Elkton Ky.- Todd County native Nina Julia KENNER, age 93, died Wednesday, March 19 1997. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Claymour.
Born August 6 1903, daughter of the late William and Lorena MILLER BOLEY. Her husband, Robert KENNER, died in 1960.

Native of Todd County, born Oct. 12, 1917, daughter of the late Richard and Clara SHELTON LACK.
Preceding her in death was a daughter, Clara Gayle LASTER in 1952.

A native of Todd County, he was born July 22, 1917, the son of the late William Thomas and Jimmie JONES OATTS. He was a life member of the New Ebenezer Baptist Church.

PORTER, Barbara LEWIS
Memorial for Mrs. Barbara LEWIS PORTER, age 88, Tuscon, Ariz. formerly of Todd County, will be held Jan. 16, 1997 at the Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. The body was cremated with intement in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton.
She was born in Logan County, on July 30, 1908, the daughter of the late Linwood and Bell MARTIN LEWIS.Her husband, Maurice Chestnut PORTER, perceded her in death in 1976.

RICH, Albert
Age 57, Carona, Calif., and formerly of Elkton, were held Dec. 18, 1996, at Stokes Chapel Cemetery, Todd County.
He was born in Todd County on Nov. 3, 1939, the son of the late Albert and Martha Bell CASE RICH.

Age 95, Trenton, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997.

SEGERS, Mable Louise
Funeral services for Mable Louise SEGERS, age 86, of the Allegre community, were held Jan. 6,1997 burial followed in the Cedar GroveCemetery.
A native of Todd County, she was born on Aug. 21, 1910, daughter of the late Les and Nell Frances DYCUS.

SWEENEY, Mary
Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth EWING SWEENEY, age 61, Evansville,Indiana, were held Jan. 28, 1997 burial followed in Alexander Memorial Park, Evansville, Ind.
A native of Todd County, she was born Aug. 30, 1935, daughter of Bonnie Mae CARTER EWING and the late John EWING. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee SWEENEY in 1995.

WYATT, Esther Lee
Esther Lee WYATT, 92, of Elkton died July 9, 1996.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, 1996.
Burial followed in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. WYATT was born January 29, 1904 in Trigg County, the daughter of the late William Winfield and Louella JOINER CAMPBELL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Euel WYATT in 1978 and one son, Glenn WYATT in 1983.
