J. & Anita Nevala. Community Life: Darlene Poppe has contributed a
picture from 1946 of several Thorp guys, and it's been posted on the
Withee Township community pages. Poznan: Janet and Stan contributed a scan of an
oilcloth plat map and surveyor's statement for the
1895
layout of the village of Poznan. Poznan was never built, but was laid
out about four miles east of Thorp, at the location known as Sterling.
11/11/2005 Walter Wartolec has contributed a
map of Eidsvold from the 1940s. Having grown up here, Walter drew this
map by memory--it's truly amazing! In addition, a number of old
Eidsvold
pictures have been posted.

Cyril Alger b. 1917 of
Thorp, the son of Jay R. and Mayme Alger.
Cyril was born was born Sept. 8, 1917 and died in January of 1979. He is
buried in New St.
Hedwig's Cemetery, Thorp, WI
