wpe7.gif (6011 bytes)Claude Lawrence was born in Fremont Township, a son of William and Edna (nee Dean) Lawrence.  After his mother died, he lived with G. Walter and Edna Lawrence.  Walter Lawrence was a son of Sophronia Lawrence, an early pioneer of York Township, and a sister-in-law of Jesse Lawrence and a sister to Horace Lawrence’s first wife, Lorinda Windsor.  As such, Walter Lawrence was a brother to Margaret (nee Lawrence) Benedict, who is also buried in York Center Cemetery.  Claude died at the home of Walter Lawrence and was first buried in the plot where Olive (nee Lawrence) Campbell is buried.  Claude was later moved to a grave near his mother.
