Jesse Mortimer
August 21, 1878 - February 16, 1956
Jesse Mortimer was a son of William and Stella (nee
Pettit) Mortimer, early pioneers of
York Township who came to Clark County from Calumet County in 1876.
As such, he was a brother to Grace Rowe,
Ray Mortimer and George
Mortimer, who are also buried in York Center Cemetery.
After marrying the former Belle Davis, he lived most of his life on a
farm in Section 21 on Pray Road.
