Lawrence Vandeberg

May 11, 1903 - December 13, 1992

Lawrence Vandeberg was a son of Abram and Lois (nee Lawrence) Vandeberg.  Abram Vandeberg was an early settler of York Township.  Lois Vandeberg was a daughter of Horace A. and Edna (nee Smithers) Lawrence, who were pioneers of York Township.  Horace A. Lawrence was a son of Jesse and Almeda (nee Benedict) Lawrence, who were also York pioneers.  Edna Lawrence was a daughter of William and Lois (nee Knight) Smithers, who came to York Township in the 1880s.  Lawrence Vandeberg married the former Bertha Diercks.  She died shortly afterwards and was buried in York Center Cemetery.  He then married Vivian Lawrence, a daughter of Roy and Sadie (nee Huntley) Lawrence. Roy Lawrence was a son of Horace and Edna Lawrence.  Two of Lawrence Vandeberg’s siblings, Irvin and Carrie Vandeberg, are also buried in York Center Cemetery.  Lawrence and Vivian Vandeberg's children include Delores Hudak, Nathon Vandeberg, Eileen Pongratz, Sharon Aleckson, and Marie Kaufman.
