My grandmother's first husband was Lonzo WILLIAMS who listed his home as
Todd County. I have a couple of pictures of his parents, U.W. WILLIAMS and
Lannie CHANDLER. Lonzo was born c 1883. I will be happy to send copies of
the pictures to anyone interested.

James B. (Believed to be Bennett) WILLIAMS b 1812, probably in VA, married
a Catherine ? circa 1835 in VA.  They left VA in approx. 1845 and went to
West Finley township, Washington County, PA where their 4th child was born.
 From there they went to Avon, Fulton County, IL, where the rest of their
children were born.  (Our belief is that James' mother was a BENNETT.)

The reason we believe the B stands for Bennett is because a grandchild of
James carried the middle name of Bennett, and we found a picture whose
source is unknown, of an older woman with the caption of Grandma BENNETT.

James and Catherine's children were:

Zachariah Presley b 1846, PA

I was told a BENNETT family from Virginia went west to the Elkton, KY area
with a WILLIAMS group.  If this is true, does anyone have a line that might tie in to this one?

We have an old mystery concerning my gggrandmother Cincinnati of Christian
& Todd Counties of KY - What really was her maiden name and who are her
parents?

Listed as C.O. MARTIN on marriage license to William Ellis WEST (b.13 Sep
1822 - d.21 Jun 1896) dated 14 Apr 1848 (Todd Co., KY).  The only known
reference to the name MARTIN is on the marriage record.  Her son (my
ggrandfather), John William WEST's 1947 death certificate - she is listed
as Cincinnati WILLIAMS. On son's 1942 Death Certificate [Jesse Harrison
WEST] she is listed as Cincinnati WILLIAMS, b. Christian Co. as his mother.
On daughter, Mary Bell TUCKER's death certificate (1925), she is listed as
"Nat" WILLIAMS; "Nat" is written above the crossed out "Sinat" (that is
what everyone called her - "Sinat" and sometimes "Nat"!).  She is often
listed as Cincinnati O. WEST or C.O. WEST.  The long-time Todd Co., KY
County Clerk (where William Ellis WEST and Cincinnati were married) was
P.O. MARTIN.  When the marriage record was entered it may have been just
habit to enter "MARTIN" after the "C.O." or she had been married to a
MARTIN or the children's informants in 1925, 1942 & 1947 were
incorrect??????????

The only thing I could get from my family as to who was even related to
Cincinnati was that she was a "cousin" of Fate O'DANIEL ["Fate" nickname
for "Lafayette"?].  Sally BOSWELL has sent me some info concerning
O'DANIELs with WILLIAMS connections, but I have not been able to unravel
it, either!  From Sally: "My grandfather James Dekater O'DANIEL, living
with his grandmother Susannah (BLACKSTON) O'DANIEL in 1850 census, later
married a James WILLIAMS.  Susannah was married to a Joshua O'DANIEL in NC,
and possible Joshua died while on way to Kentucky.  The Joshua in the 1850
Census who married Nancy E. COLVIN, is her son.   James D. O'DANIEL death
certificate says that his father was Joshua, and his mother was a Jennie WILLIAMS. There is a Jane E.
THOMPSON living with this family, who we think is the mother of my
grandfather.  Susannah BLACKSTON O'DANIEL did marry a James WILLIAMS later,
so I think this is where grandmother O'DANIEL got this."

Johanna WEST sent me this: "Kitty Cincinnati O'DANIEL married John William
Hickman LINDSEY on Oct 21, 1874 in Christian County.  Since Cincinnati is
an uncommon name there may be a relation between Kitty Cincinnati O'DANIEL
and your Cincinnati O. WILLIAMS."  Kitty Cincinnati has a brother named
Lafayette!!!!!

In the 1860 Christian Co., KY US Census Book, published by the Hopkins Co.
Genealogical Society, Inc., 1978: I have found the only
O'DANIEL family in household #634-Joshua O'Daniel (place of Kitty's marriage, possible father) -
Joshua  38m,
Nancy 39f,
J.W. 16m,
A.V. 15m,
Susan V. 12f,
J.P. 10m,
R.C 6f, (this may be K.C.),
S.S. 6f (twins?),
Lafayette 2m, & Rachael CALVAIN 26f (all Born KY).

We can not find a death certificate for her even though she died according
to her tombstone on 16 May 1912 - in where else but O'DANIEL Cemetery near
the WEST farm where she lived!!!  She is listed in the 1910 Census for
Christian Co., KY (Cincinnatie O. WEST 83 Widow 4 of 5 children living).

Does anyone else have information showing what family my Cincinnati O.
WILLIAMS/MARTIN/WEST belongs?  Does anyone have more information on the
WILLIAMS and O'DANIEL families that might help?  Help us solve this
mystery, please!  :)
